POLICE SEEK COMMUNITY ASSISTANCE IN SOLVING EARLY MORNING CHURCH BURGLARIES
Fort Collins Police Services investigators are seeking information from the citizens of Fort Collins that may help in solving a series of late night/early morning church burglaries that have taken place in the City since September of 2008.
Since September 2008, the following churches have been burglarized:
Mennonite Fellowship Church 300 E. Oak St.
First Presbyterian Church 531 S. College Ave.
St. John’s Lutheran Church 305 E. Elizabeth St.
Peak Community Church 500 Mathews St.
Trinity Lutheran Church 301 E. Stuart St.
Harbor of Hope Church 608 E. Drake Rd.
Altitude Community Worship 2130 W. Mulberry St.
Immanuel Christian Church 1900 S. Taft Hill Rd.
Peace with Christ Lutheran Church 1412 W. Swallow Rd.
LDS Family History Center 600 E. Swallow Rd.
Foothills Assembly Church 305 W. Swallow Rd.
Mountain Range Church 3601 S. Shields St.
The last burglary occurred during the early morning hours of Tuesday, November 18, 2008. During the late night/early morning burglaries, the suspect or suspects have forced entry into the respective church through a window or door. Once inside, any readily available cash and/or food items are taken. The suspect or suspects leave the church prior to any contact with church staff or patrons. No one has been injured during the burglaries.
The crime scenes have indicated that the incidences are not hate crimes and the religious denominations of the churches are varied.
